Who we are
3D Remote Building Inspections Ltd. (3DRBi) provides virtual code compliance and other inspections for construction projects in rural, remote and First Nations communities using 3D cameras and innovative technology platforms. It removes the need for an inspector to physically visit a construction site, significantly reducing a project’s cost and time. In addition to this, it greatly increases accessibility to highly qualified construction reviewers, making the review process much quicker.
3DRBi was developed as a response to construction projects in rural, remote and First Nations communities facing significant delays in the review phase due to the limited availability of construction inspectors and the high cost associated with these inspections. This problem has resulted in projects being stalled for long periods or projects simply not conducting a construction review at all.
By providing a means to significantly quicker and cheaper inspections, 3DRBi aims to Inspect Smarter, Build Better. It will encourage more construction reviews, ultimately leading to safer and more robust housing supply at a lower cost in remote regions.

The First Nations National Building Officer’s Association
The First Nations National Building Officer's Association (FNNBOA) was established in 2003. The name “building officer” was selected because it incorporates the daily activities of a First Nations inspector, whose tasks are many and varied in the community extending beyond the on-site inspection of buildings. The FNNBOA represents people in First Nation communities who provide residential, commercial and institutional construction and renovation technical services. This includes plans review, inspections, recommending repairs, technical advocacy and advisory services assisting on reserve construction.
